Women's Weightlifting dispatches Apopka
11/15/2017 8:19:00 PM

A change in the scheduled start time may have affected who was able to compete but it certainly didn't affect the result as Women's Weightlifting moved past host Apopka, 53-28, to stay undefeated at 3-0. DP took first place in seven weight classes as Danielle Beach won at 101 pounds, followed by Megan Rush at 119, Zamora St. Cyr in the 129 pound class, Jada St. Cyr at 139, Shania Gowan at 183, Harmony Harris at 199 and Amani Guzman in the unlimited class. Sophomore Jessica Corredor moved up from her normal 101-pound weight class to compete at 110 to fill the void and wound up setting a personal record in the bench (105 pounds) while earning a second place finish. Should she compete back at 101 pounds against Evans in two weeks and duplicate that lift, she will tie the school record set by Samantha Smith back in 2009!
