Men's Swimming's 200 freestyle relay team of Gavin Collins, Tyler Haugh, Jake Meisenheimer and Max Meisenheimer won the Consolation Finals at the 2016 State Championship
Senior Jake Meisenheimer obliterated the Men's Swimming and Diving school record in the 200 freestyle preliminaries and came back in the finals to break it yet again at the 2016 State Championship. Meisenheimer's time of 1:41.21 in the 200 free erased Ian Perkins' 2012 mark by over a second and earned him a fourth place finish, while also placing 24th in the 100 backstroke. Junior diver Alex Kaiser picked up valuable team points again as he placed 13th in the field of 24 with 331.65 points. DP was also represented in the 200 freestyle relay with Jake Meisenheimer, Gavin Collins, Max Meisenheimer and Tyler Haugh and the team placed ninth overall, winning the consolation finals with a time of 1:29.30. As a team, the Panthers placed 17th among 52 scoring teams. The night also wrapped up sensational swim careers for both Jake Meisenheimer and Tyler Haugh. Meisenheimer finishes as an 11-time Metro West Conference Champion and a nine-time District Champion while Haugh earned three Metro West Conference titles and was a four-time District Champion as well!
